GAMEBOY CLOCK! - SamRI

So the story begins about a 1.5 weeks ago. I came across a Goodwill and found an old Gameboy in it. Because I am a whore for collecting these things (people that know me can agree to this) I bought it. Turns out: it didn't work. After an hour or two trying to fix it I gave up and pronounced it officially dead. Know I had a useless Gameboy. What to do with it?

A few minutes of thinking and it came to me: a clock! A few more minutes of this strange "thinking" I though of an addition to this: the clock lights up when you flip with Gameboy on/off switch. So I instantly set about working...when I got off work. A week later with much hardship, use of my dremel, sodering gun and newly purchased glue gun...

~I give you the Gameboy Clock!!!~

When the switch is flipped:
Hope you enjoyed it!

Tarts! - SamRI

All craft projects are kind of at a halt due to lack of funds, and lack of black perler beads :( I had a safeway gift card so I decided to bake something! I chose...tarts! Blackberry to be exact. I have no clue how they turned out tastewise....I'll be trying them later today.

[EDIT] The tarts are basically amazing. Crust is a little too thick...but when the crust itself tastes delicious...it just doesn't matter.

Bubble Bobble towel at 100%!!! Wooo!!! - mochi

IT IS COMPLETED!!! I CAN FINALLY START A NEW PROJECT!!! Although, I have to say...after figuring out how to cross stitch correctly (stitching ALL the Xs in the same direction), I really want to do another cross stitch project. :P I was thinking about figuring out what to do with my yarn stash...I had started a nice little blanket with Rowan Polar, but Rowan discontinued that line (just my luck, it's the second time that's happened to me), so yeah. Finding the same lot of colors and stuff has been a pain in the ass. So I figure I ought to just try and figure something out with the yarn I already have. Oh well, we shall see what happens!

IT'S DONE!! WOO!! I can actually use it now after I run it through the wash!! ^_^

Bub is now complete!! - mochi

Woohoooo!!!! Just one more bubble left, and the towel will be complete!! :D I guess I'll be finished with it tomorrow, providing I have enough attention span for it.

In other news, I have a meeting with Mission Beach Cafe! I'll just be bringing in a resume and meeting with the kitchen manager, and hopefully catch the very busy pastry chef...then hopefully head to Davis for some sushi with my godbrothers. Also, I might get a decorating job at That Takes the Cake, a cupcake place in Marina. I've applied to a dozen other jobs, so hopefully I hear from them soon. I really need a job soon, because after this month I have no more school loans coming in, and I kinda got screwed over at Candybar since the chef took back the offer he gave me to work 2 days a week. Oh well, hopefully I'll find something better and more realistic of a kitchen setting than Candybar is. I also have the option to move back to Seattle or Manila, but I suppose that's another blog entry...I dont feel like typing it all out right now. Don't worry, I'm sure I'll figure things out soon. :)

Anyway hopefully once I get finished with the towel and find a job, I can spare a little money to get more Perler beads to start a new project...I also wanna do something with my fat yarn stash, so we'll see what I come up with this summer!

SUMMER IS HERE - SamRI

Summer is here and I can finally start crafting again!!! Expect moar Perler bead creations, possible x-stitch (though...it'd be the same as Mochi's) Pixel cookies? Who knows? ALL?! You'll just have to wait and find out!

2nd bubble done, project at 60% completion!! - mochi

Woohooooo!! Just Bob and one more bubble till it's finished!! I've decided that the centering will probably fix itself when the towel is finished. Also, I wanted to make it seem like the dinosaurs and bubbles were kinda floating around like they do in the game, so I didn't bother centering it that way either.

In other news, I've been doing an average of 30 hours a week at Candybar (www.candybarsf.com), and it seems that 3 days off isn't enough time for me to get motivated to be crafty...but my new roommate, Hannah, and of course SamRI have been encouraging (that includes a trip to Michaels that was almost an ordeal, and talking to Sam for the first time in ages).

Anyway, future projects include finishing up the towel, dinking around with my new soldering iron, getting back into knitting, trying to think up new Perler and cross stitch projects, and creating a dessert buffet for a friend's bridal shower. Stay tuned!
